Stranded for SNAPS: a challenge with a difference!
A group of SNAPS supporters are taking on a fundraising challenge with a difference this month.
The first ever Stranded for SNAPS event takes place on Tuesday, 22nd October. The event will see a group of willing fundraisers taken out on boat from Leeds Dock and stranded until they can raise the funds needed to get back to shore.
With an allotted time and a fundraising target, the group will set sail from the dock via water taxi with their phones, laptops and a book of contacts. They will then need to enlist the help of their connections, persuading them to donate vital funds for SNAPS. They will be able to return to dry land once they have reached their fundraising target.
The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Abigail Marshall Katung, and Gemma Smith, CEO of Strata are on board with the event. they say:
“This is such a unique event and I’m delighted to be part of it! SNAPS is a fantastic charity which puts children and families at the heart of everything it does. I hope that Stranded for SNAPS will raise some much-needed funds for SNAPS’ services as well as raising awareness of the work that they do.” – The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Abigail Marshall Katung.
“I’m thrilled to be taking part in Stranded for SNAPS. We have been supporting SNAPS for the past year, this event is unlike most fundraising events and will certainly be a unique opportunity to raise awareness and support the incredible work being done by the team at SNAPS.” – Gemma Smith, CEO of Strata.
All funds raised from Stranded for SNAPS will go towards our vital work supporting children with additional needs and their families.
We’re very grateful to everyone taking part in this unique event. There is still space available for further participants to take part, so if you’re up to the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
